This month is off to a strong start already. With many vapers out there looking to beat the Summer heat and feel refreshed with some cool flavors, and dense clouds.
Austin Lawrence is a particularly unique vaper with some serious style. Some of his tricks are so unique it seems pretty obvious that he's dedicated to the craft. One of my favorite vape tricks that he's posted on the social media platform strikes me as very ingenious.
Give him a follow on Instagram for some more impressive tricks and serious cloud chasing, @vaustinl
Since we're usually discussing the rise of vaping in other countries, here's a great read on the efforts of Asia-pacific countries and how vaping is increasing smoking cessation. However, the interesting thing here is that while the article claims that the positive effects of smoking cessation are happening, it's an interesting climate in the countries here wherein vaping products have not yet been made legal and instead there's a rather nefarious device at work.
This is news to me, but there's a device that heats tobacco and gives off vapor but also a bit of smoke in the process. This is because e-liquid has not been regulated and doesn't seem to be on the docket yet.
Instead, we have a device, dubbed the IQOS, that takes this small cigarette-looking packs. The tobacco industry is alive and well over there, so we can only hope for the future vapers of Asia that they have a better alternative soon.
Also in the news, the UK is always making progressive moves for vapers and this one is no different. After last years smoking ban in British prisons led to riots, the Ministry of Justice allowed prisoners to vape. The program has been a big success, with 33,000 inmates now buying e-cigarettes in prison.
The smoking ban caused havoc in the prisons — not surprising (or rather quite surprising depending on your outlook) considering 80 percent of the U.K.’s prisoners smoked. Violence among inmates and assaults on guards had increased, according to Metro.co.uk. Some smoking prisoners even tried to smoke nicotine patches. That seems a bit extreme!
On an almost completely different note, I wanted to highlight this great fly fishing desk that someone has turned into a vape station. If you're tired of having tons of moving parts and pieces everywhere and a travel bag isn't a staple of your vaping practice then this is a great way to go. Pretty sure this is totally DIY too.
As someone who is always interested in other peoples mods, builds, and setups, this qualifies as totally creative and worth investing the time and effort into. Also, check out that Cotton Bacon!
Speaking of DIY, here's the next bit of recommended reading. As Instagram, Reddit, and the various vaping communities out there can be super helpful, I'd like to share my newest obsession, DIY Vape Juice on Reddit: /r/DIY_eJuice/
You're going to find a ton of recipe information here and get more info on that craft e-liquid flavor you've been searching for. It's great to watch a community evolve too. If you're curious about the future of this subsect of vaping than I strongly suggest keeping an eye on this thread.
In the favor of the hot summer I hereby declare this edition of the Vape Scene over, and order you to chase clouds, both outdoors and from your device! Enjoy!
