Sure there's a ton of vaping lingo out there. It’s a dense culture that’s spawned almost seemingly overnight. If you're trying to get a job at a vape shack or just want to get immersed in the hobby for fun or smoking cessation then these are the terms and tricks that one should be familiar with.
There's a lot of knowledge out there that needs to go around so let's start simple and then work into some of the vape terminologies that applies to vape tricks as well.
The Vape Mod
A more advanced e-cigarette than the JUUL or disposable e-cigarettes.
The mod is made up of multiple parts, including a tank for liquid and a rechargeable battery. It’s quickly become a mainstay of vaping, outselling and out-performing the disposables. A rebuildable dripping atomizer (RDA) screws on top and includes the mouthpiece and a metal coil to create the vapor. Modders modify mods. That's where the build skill comes in handy. More on that later.
Perhaps the most bizarre word in the vaping dictionary, Squonkers squeeze a bottle incorporated into the bottom of their mods, pushing their juice into the atomizer and avoiding EU limits on the size of built-in tanks. Vapers happen to be very resourceful.
Juice or E-liquid
These days there are many words used to describe vape liquid. Luckily for context, it's pretty easy to figure out. Made with a blend of food-grade additives VG (vegetable glycerin) and PG (propylene glycol).
The important difference in liquids is simply explained by the balance of VG and PG.
A higher VG blend makes bigger clouds, while more PG means more flavor. Flavorings go in with the nicotine, which can be mixed up to a maximum legal concentration of 20 milligrams per milliliter. For those who have more of an addiction to the act of physically moving your hand like you're taking a puff, there's e-liquid with no nicotine available too.
Vapers who perfect their mods and juices to create the biggest clouds. Trick vapers go further, spending hours attempting to learn new ways to make smoke rings and more elaborate shapes. Top cloud chasers have appeared in several international versions of Britain’s Got Talent TV competition (We all know that Britain is lightyears ahead in terms of vaping).
Some vapers might think you'll need a specific cloud chasing tank or cloud chasing kit, but the secrets lie in the worlds best vapers. Those who are after the prize of blowing the worlds largest vape cloud or other insane world records.
The higher the airflow the cooler the vape. ... With a higher airflow, the clouds will be cooler to feel, but by cooling it down, you lose a bit of flavor. Instead of forcing the flavor out with the vapor, it can stay on the coils. Higher airflow can decrease the amount of juice needed because it remains on the coils.
RDAs with a low resistance (below 1 ohm) can be paired with a more powerful mod. This increases the size of the cloud but requires a bigger inhalation, which means the nicotine level can be lower for someone who is sub-ohming to achieve a similar hit of vapor.
Drippers use small bottles to drip juice directly on to the coil. The liquid soaks into a small piece of cotton wool threaded through the coil, where it turns to vapor during heating and inhalation. This is can be messy and negatively affect the hygiene of your vape, but it appeals to tinkering enthusiasts, many of whom build their own coils.
If lingo wasn't enough, then there are the tricks involved.
Vaping Tricks and Tips on How To Perform Them
Here are the basic vaping tricks you'll want to know:
The ghost inhale is one of the easier vaping tricks. Take a long pull from your device and let the vapor linger in your mouth for a couple of seconds. Then with some lung strength, exhale all the vapor from your mouth in a ball, then quickly re-inhale the “vapor ball”.
All you have to do is take a drag from your vaporizer. Then, use force to exhale it through your nose and through both corners of your mouth, trying to close your lips tightly only in the middle.
The name sounds fun and intimidating, and rest assured that this trick will impress anyone who sees it. This maneuver entails creating a flat pool of vapor that forms into a tornado shape. The tornado vape is best done with a pen or mod that gives off thick and still vapor.
All you have to do is carefully exhale your vapor, but make sure that you do it on a super flat surface, and bear in mind that it has to be pretty thick. The next step is to make use of your hands and chop at the surface. Afterward, flick your wrist up and raise your arm. Make sure to do it all at once.
Among all the tricks this is probably one of the oldest All you have to do is take a deep drag and keep it in your throat. Also, make sure that your tongue is at the bottom of your mouth and towards the back of your throat. Next, you will have to create an ‘O’ shape with your lips. Once you got the O shape down, make quick, pulsing movements with your throat, and allow the vape to come out in the shape of the letter O.
As with any of these tricks, it's good to check out youtube if you just don't seem to be getting it. Now all that's left is to ask yourself, do you have everything you need to start vaping?
