Any vaper worth their cloud should know some of the basic principles of getting the flavor, vapor, and heat. So it's wise to understand the variables of power. First, let's start with the coils.
A device that runs lower resistance coils produces more at a lower voltage than higher ohm coils. This is where the flavor and vapor come in because they use more watts. Therefore, the higher watts, the more power is being used in the same amount of time. So a higher wattage produces more clouds as the juice is being vaporized at a faster rate. This can get vapers into trouble though if they run the device low on juice for too long.

Avoiding The Dry Hit
Vapers often wonder what is happening when they let their device run low on e-juice. Ding-Ding!
That's a dry hit!
A dry hit is a sad moment in the life of your device. It occurs when you're no longer getting a fully saturated hit off the atomizer. One should be careful because what is happening is a burning or charring of the wicking material.
This can be pretty unpleasant. There is a quick fix though. Not only should you procure some new e-liquid ASAP, a simple cleaning is in order.
First, wash with warm water and dry with a paper towel and leave it out to dry. After you've reprimed the device you should be free of that burnt taste. However, if you have a harsh dry hit then it's likely that the taste will impart to future vape sessions if you don't clean it properly.

Modern electronic cigarettes come with many features and one of these features is variable voltage. Not every e-cigarette comes with the option of variable voltage, some already come with preconfigured constant power output.
Since more advanced users prefer an option of variable voltage which allows them to control power output, many will choose to use a device like an atomizer to achieve ideal vapor production. This is why the evolution of the e-cigarette has progressed from the constant power-type e-cigarette to the variety of different types and brands of atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers on the market today.
Understanding Resistance Options
These various types and brands of atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers all have one thing in common:
A heating coil which converts power delivered by your battery to heat.
The heating coil can have a variety of different resistance options depending on what you've got. Thus, it requires different power levels to achieve ideal heating temperature. Variable voltage options allow the user to set ideal power output depending on brand and model of atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers.
The highest voltage is not always your best option.
When it comes to your device's power setting one should be careful to avoid cranking the voltage up constantly as it can lead to burning of e-juice or even risk of coil burnout. Therefore, always pay attention to Ohm rating of atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers when purchasing one. If you're having trouble just ask your local vape store.
An Ohm rating indicates resistance level of a heating coil inside the e-juice delivery device. Lower level (or Ohms) require lower power level to achieve proper and safe heating temperature. Higher level requires higher power output. If the set voltage exceeds designed resistance level, you will get a burned taste and it can even lead to the coil burning out completely.
If the voltage is set too low with respect to the resistance level, vapor production will be low and inefficient. So to help you with ideal voltage setting you will need two things: resistance level of your e-juice delivery device and knowledge of Ohm's law.
